Sarah Candy joined Mokoro at the start of 2021. Sarah has a background in humanitarian aid with a focus on gender, climate change, water & sanitation and environmentally sensitive programming. She provides research support on multi-country evaluations related to women’s economic empowerment, gender, child marriage and budget analysis. Her responsibilities typically include conducting interviews, analysing documents, frameworks and strategies, data analysis and research administration. Past assignments have included the evaluation of Danida Multi-Bilateral Interventions, with research responsibilities for case studies in Ethiopia, Bangladesh, Kenya and Somalia with projects ranging from sexual reproductive health services to government safety net programmes; a multi-country evaluation of the Joint Programme on Accelerating Progress Towards the Economic Empowerment of Rural Women (FAO, IFAD, UN Women, WFP); and an assessment of the level of integration of national and sectoral policies and plans on ending child marriage (ECM) in government budgets of selected African countries for UNICEF; and the Organizational Evaluation of Education Cannot Wait (ECW) with a specific focus on gender analysis. Prior to joining Mokoro, Sarah project managed multi-million dollar projects for USAID, ECHO and UNICEF with responsibilities for project design, monitoring and evaluation, financial management and reporting across WASH, education and environmental projects.
