Financial Benchmarking for Child Protection: Afghanistan Pilot
2017
UNICEF, Afghanistan
This assignment was the third in a series of child protection financial benchmarking pilot studies, testing the framework and manual developed by Mokoro for UNICEF: the other completed studies were in Indonesia and Cote d’Ivoire, and a further pilot has taken place in Nigeria.
Alta Fölscher provided oversight, guidance and training to UNICEF staff and national consultants in Afghanistan, enabling them to collect valuable data for analysis of child protection spending in-country, and compiled the country Child Protection Financial Benchmark report based on the data. This information enables comparisons to be made between countries, aids the assessment of funding adequacy and facilitates child protection reform planning.
Quality Support was provided by Sarah Holloway.
