Dr Elizabeth Daley is Team Leader of Mokoro’s long-term  flagship WOLTS Project, a global project that supports inclusive land governance. She is a gender (GESI) expert and a tenure specialist, with over 25 years’ experience working on land, natural resources, environment, climate change, and livelihoods across Africa and Asia, including agricultural, mining, pastoralist and forestry contexts. Elizabeth has extensive field-based technical knowledge of key policy issues around responsible land governance, land tenure reform, land rights and tenure security, natural resource management, and large-scale land acquisitions, with particular interests in gender equity, property rights for women and all vulnerable groups, and women’s economic empowerment. She has written and presented widely, including academic publication, peer-reviewed reports and policy papers, and regular blogs. She is also an experienced trainer and facilitator. Elizabeth was lead drafter of FAO’s Governing Land for Women and Men – Governance of Tenure Technical Guide 1, and subsequently worked with FAO to develop a linked blended learning programme to support the implementation of the VGGTs. Among a wide range of earlier assignments, she worked long-term in Rwanda, supporting the Ministry of Land in preparing for systematic land tenure regularisation. She currently volunteers in an independent capacity as Chair of the Board of the Land Portal Foundation.
