Tajikistan Programmatic Public Expenditure Review

2007
DFID, Tajikistan

The Programmatic Public Expenditure Review (PPER) was launched by the World Bank in Tajikistan in 2006, supported by other development partners of Tajikistan including DFID. The PPER is closely aligned with ongoing reforms to public financial management (PFM) such as the introduction of the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF).

Mokoro consultant, Mary Betley, acted as a peer reviewer for several chapters of the Programmatic Public Expenditure Review, including the chapters on growth, fiscal space, medium-term expenditure framework and the PEFA assessment.

The PPER was undertaken over three fiscal years (2006-2009) and published in three annual reports. The PPER supported PFM reforms through analytical and diagnostic work.
