Review of DFID country governance analysis

2007
DFID, Multi country

DFID’s 2006 White Paper ‘Eliminating world poverty: making governance work for the poor’ emphasised that governance is central to development and set out three requirements for good governance: state capability, accountability and responsiveness. This led to the development of new governance assessment monitoring tool, known as a Country Governance Analysis (CGA).

Mokoro consultant, Trish Silkin, undertook a review of DFID Country Governance Analyses from seven African countries. The objective of the review was to identify key governance trends as well as to flag challenges for donors across the African region.
