| Ireland began their current cycle of development cooperation with Palestine at the international donor conference on economic assistance for the Palestinians, held in Washington in 1993.
A Mokoro team including, Stephen Lister and Trish Silkin, prepared a draft for a new country strategy paper for Development Cooperation between Ireland and Palestine for the period 2005-2007. This was achieved in consultation with the Irish Representative Office in Ramallah and the Palestine Assistance Desk in Dublin. The new strategy focused on meeting emergency needs while also assisting capacity building of the Palestinian Authority to meet the basic needs of Palestinian people. |
