Accelerating Action: Women’s Voices on Land Rights and the Road Ahead

March 2025
International Land Coalition

Thirty years after the adoption of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, no country in the world has fully delivered on women’s rights. While significant progress has been made in establishing strong legal frameworks at both national and global levels, the lived reality for women at the grassroots remains largely unchanged. The struggle for land rights is a glaring example of this implementation gap.

To mark International Women’s Day 2025, the International Land Coalition (ILC) has published a series of testimonials from grassroots women, including pastoralists, farmers, Indigenous Peoples, and young women, highlighting the barriers they face and the urgent need for change.
