| Mokoro Principal Consultant, Ray Purcell, undertook a Public Expenditure Review (PER) of the agriculture and natural resources sector in the Gambia.
The work involved a survey of the existing crops and livestock extension branches to determine the numbers and location of staff actively involved in extension work as well as the financial resources likely to be available for the implementation of extension unification in the next three years. |
The consultant worked closely with the Ministry of Finance to ensure the retention of cost savings from restructuring within the extension service in order to design appropriate institutional arrangements and management systems as well as staff training programmes to support the implementation plan.
