Assessment of Zambia’s Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper

Zambia’s Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (PRSP) describe the country’s macroeconomic, structural, and social policies in support of growth and poverty reduction, as well as associated external financing needs and major sources of financing. PRSP’s are prepared by member countries in broad consultation with stakeholders and development partners, including the staff of the World Bank and the IMF.

Mokoro Principal Consultant, Alta Fölscher, undertook a review of the progress made by the Zambian PRSP at national, provincial and local level as well as across government, and stakeholders outside of government. The assessment was commissioned by DFID.

The review involved assessing the institutional arrangements for participation, implementation and monitoring and evaluation and inputs were provided into the World Bank Poverty and Vulnerability assessment.
