2015
DFID, Multi country

The Department for International Development’s (DFID) Forest Governance, Markets and Climate Programme (FGMC) is a 10-year, £250 million programme aimed at tackling forest governance failures in developing timber-producing countries, and the consequent market failures that result in illegal exploitation of forest land and resources and the associated trade in timber and other commodities.

FGMC provides the UK contribution to the EU Forest Law Enforcement Governance and Trade (FLEGT) Action Plan, as part of a global effort to tackle deforestation.

Mokoro Principal Consultant, Martin Adams, provided technical inputs to the FGMC monitoring programme over a two-year period. The objective of these advisor inputs was to ensure that FGMC activities were on track relative to the milestones set out in the programme logical framework and were contributing effectively to the Outputs and the Outcome.  Countries involved were; Liberia, Ghana, Cote d’Ivoire, Democratic Republic of Congo, The Republic of the Congo and Guyana.
